HOUSING FOR THE DEAF
Form ever follows function.” – Louis Sullivan
Housing for the deaf is one of the most under implemented types of public housing and architecture. Zephyr Seven Housing is a non-profit corporation that is dedicated to provide apartment homes designed to accommodate the unique safety and comfort needs to deaf and hard of hearing individuals
Anthony Medina Design worked closely with founder Synthia Jones to create a concept in order to obtain funding and support for this upcoming endeavor. The design en-devours to address safety and livability for the deaf and hard of hearing. Our goal to accomplish this is by using open designed floor plans, semi-translucent materials and vibration technology that will allow the residents to enjoy a home catered to their needs.
